WATCH: Full Text Search is here, no more needles in haystacks!

There is a new way to search within your documents and document titles in Contractbook for clauses, important information and specific keywords - some call it Full Text Search, others call it just an advanced search function.

What ever you want to call it (Steve?) it's a pretty important function that will help you keep your library in order and help you find exactly what you are looking for to prepare for the next Wikileaks - in just a click of a finger.

To say that we have been asked for an advanced search function multiple times would be a stretch. It is a tool that brings great functionality to our solution, adding yet more freedom, convenience and dynamism to how you and your teams work.

Another cool feature for this release is our Contract Reader (OCR functionality in tech speak). We are working in the background to add a function whereby you can drop in your PDF contracts, previously made on some boomer tech, and our reader will scan, analyze and then transform it into a dynamic and fully functional document. Standby for that announcement too!

Check out the video and then continue reading, it is inevitable that I am waiting to give you the 411 on Full Text Search...

We are in line with what you want to help automate and enhance your experience. This is again about us making your data available to you rather than keeping it in a, shall we say, digital dungeon, or Predetermined Data Frontier (PDF).

Why Full Text Search?

Our original search function was pretty limited in comparison to this, it was needed. We really wanted to push for the ability to search legacy documents and the like, and with this you have the ability to do just that.

Now you do not need to waste time endlessly scanning documents for a phrase, a specific word, or maybe even a person's name, salary, or details for the new Fortnite. Type it in! Whatever it is you will find it.

Maybe you are looking for a specific clause or piece of information pertaining to, lets say:

  • In a bid to halt Schrems III the European Commission release some new modernized SCCs off the back of the Schrems II judgement... Like this... You would then use the search function to search out all of the clauses in contracts that are tied to data transfer outside of the EU. Pretty easy, right? Check your DPAs.

  • What about your NDAs? Data protection and copyright are usually not enough to protect ideas, invention, or works. Maybe you have found Banksy and want to protect the next big work of art, it is a conceptual thing, but Banksy wants to create Kanye West's album cover for his new album "Splitting up with the Kardashians Pt.1".

  • Maybe you are the going to be the Rich Paul of eSports, we will call it "Clutch eSports" and are about to take the gaming world by storm. You need to protect image rights or, upon signing that contract your players at such young ages need to agree to compulsory education clauses. Education first kids!

What does Full Text Search bring you?

This advanced search function hands you the keys to, well, search, only quicker, better and more accurately and we know what that means - save time.

For example if you are putting together a contract for that new superstar female gamer that needs some specific terms, say a fee to be paid, image rights or an agreed upon bonus structure, and you are certain that you have used these terms before but have no idea which contract it is in, which folder or sub folder.

In that case this advanced search would help you. Type in key words and the function will scan titles and the body of contracts and documents pulling forward and displaying only those that match.

Yet again we are handing you your data to utilize as you wish. Across the Contractbook platform we ensure that the data you create, or inherit, is dynamic, is there to be harnessed. Unlock the value of signed documentation and utilize the data they contain to make self-executing contracts, automate workflows, and enable better decision-making based on smart analytics.

In essence, you asked and we delivered Full Text Search. If you think you have a tool or feature in mind that would further elevate your Contractbook experience, email Jarek@contractbook.com .

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the ssadettings panel. Voila!

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
