We’ve introduced a new Sign in groups option to streamline multi-party contract signing.

• Availability‍
  
  • This option is available only for contracts with three or more signees.
  • This option is available for Accelerate plans only. However, it's possible to get it as an add-on. To do that, contact our support.
• How it works:
  • You can create as many signing groups as needed.
  • The contract is first sent to the initial group of signees.
  • Once every member of that group has signed, the contract automatically moves to the next group.

This ensures a clear, structured signing process when multiple parties are involved.

The contract creation process often felt overwhelming - too many tasks and features crammed into one place. This made it harder for you to focus and feel confident before sending a contract.

What’s new

We’ve split the process into two simple steps:

1. Creation - draft your contract.
2. Review - a brand new step where you can:
   • Double-check the contract details.
   • Set up signing options.
   • Set up signing order.
   • Make last-minute tweaks to parties and signees details.
   • Write a message to recipients.
   • Create tasks and reminders.

We’ve updated the template library as the old one felt clunky and UI outdated.

What’s new

• Fresh, light modal: A redesigned interface that’s clean and consistent with the rest of the app.
• Filter options: Find templates faster with Language and Sort by filters.
• Preview mode: See what a template looks like before you start using it.

Users were often confused when switching to Preview mode, expecting they could still edit the contract, similar to how tools like Word allow editing in preview.

What’s new

• The Preview tab now has a blue background for easy recognition.
• A “Read only” badge clearly shows that this mode is for viewing only.

You can now create tasks and set reminders faster - directly from the Contracts View, Draft Page, or Review Page.

• Streamlined task types: Focus on the essentials - Approval, Renewal, and Review.
• Quick reminders: Add reminders to obligation dates in just seconds with the new “Add reminder” icon in the Contracts View.
• Redesigned task modal: A fresh, simplified interface for adding tasks.
• Better task management: Create tasks and get a clear overview of them right in the Review Page.

You can now cancel contracts during AI upload - at any stage in the upload process (Uploading, OCR, or AI extraction). Just click the ✖️ next to the file name in the upload modal.

• Cancelled contracts are discarded completely

We’ve unified the header design across all template and document pages for visual consistency. This includes a minimalistic contextual action menu next to the document title, and main action buttons aligned to on the right-hand side.

We’ve launched a new Company page to help admins manage organization-level settings and users more effectively. A key highlight is the new Subscription tab, which shows aggregated usage counts for your company. This page is a first step towards our new upcoming Company hub, which encompasses new user management, user groups, and admin permissions.

Important: Only selected admins from your Company are able to interact with the Company page. ‍

We’ve replaced the Create and Preview tabs in the editor with a clean preview toggle.
Switching between edit and preview mode is now faster, less heavy and easier to spot.

You can now manage parties and signees in a single, unified modal, with each signee clearly linked to the party they represent. This connection is also reflected in the sidebar, where signees are nested under their respective parties for better clarity and control.

• Sidebar clarity: Instantly see all parties and their connected signees in one clean overview.

You can now download any Contractbook draft or template as a Word (.docx) file. This gives you flexibility to react to counterparties who insist on negotiating in Word instead of Contractbook.

What’s new

• Download as Word (.docx): Available in the top-bar menu of both the draft and template editors
• Don't break your workflow: Easily share a contract with parties who don’t want to negotiate in-app, re-upload for signature later

Note: Native Contractbook components like parties and signees, data fields, conditional text, comments and suggestions are converted to plain text in the downloaded Word file. Re-importing the file to Contractbook won’t restore these components.

Long attachments were cluttering your contracts and overwhelming recipients. Now they stay neatly tucked away in collapsible sections, so your contracts stay focused, clean, and easy to navigate. This makes it easier for both creators and recipients to stay focused on what really matters: the contract itself.

What’s new

• Collapsible attachment display: Attachments are neatly collapsed below the main contract.
• For creators: The most recently added attachment is expanded by default so you can review it immediately.
• For recipients: All attachments start collapsed by default, reducing visual clutter and page overload.

When uploading your signed contracts with AI upload, you can now click any purple AI-extracted data field to instantly jump to the exact section in the PDF it came from. We highlight the source right inside your document, so you can review and trust your contract data without second-guessing.

When a contract is rejected or deleted by the owner, everyone who was invited to sign, or had already signed, will now receive an email notification. This makes the signature experience clearer, more transparent, and fairer for all parties involved. Because in signature workflows, nobody likes surprises.

What’s new

• Email notifications for signees when a contract is:
  
  • ❌ Rejected by the owner
  • 🗑️ Deleted from the platform
• Clear message includes the sender’s name and what happened to the contract.

You can now pull back pending contracts into draft mode to make edits and resend later. No more need to duplicate or reject the contract. It’s a smoother way to update contracts without starting from scratch or confusing your signees.

What’s new:

• Withdraw to draft: Reclaim any pending contract and turn it back into a draft with one click.
• Edit safely: Make updates, adjust content, and prepare a clean version before resending.
• Notify signees: Anyone who already signed or was invited to sign gets an email when the contract is withdrawn.

Take full control of your contract metadata. Team owners can now set, update, and remove default data fields across the company, making it easier to ensure consistent contract data from the start. No more hardcoded defaults. No more awkward workarounds. Just clean, centralized data field control.

What’s new

• Custom default fields: Team Owners can now mark any data field as default from the data fields library.
• Global consistency: Defaults appear across all templates and new contracts (except those already signed or pending).
• Company-wide standards: Ensure essential data is always collected — and nothing extra sneaks in.

You can now create Contractbook-native drafts or templates by uploading a .docx file. Whether you're starting from a customer contract or recycling old Word documents, it's never been easier to bring your Word files into Contractbook.

Both actions are now just a click away from the main action menus on /home, /documents, and /templates
